“We were very saddened to hear of the death of Ilse Brommer (nee Molowa). Ilse was a pupil at The Towers from 1938 until 1946. She came from Austria to England on the “Kindertransport”, and spent the next eight years of her life as a boarder here at The Towers. On returning to Austria, she married and had two sons, and eventually five grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. Ilse died at the age of 90 on 6th February and was buried in her beloved village of Mariapfarr, Austria. Her granddaughter Ines writes that during her last illness she would often speak in English and French and recount her memories of The Towers where she was extremely happy. It was only in February 2019 that we were able to reconnect with Ilse. Jason Relf saw an article about “Kindertransport” children and it mentioned The Towers. Ilse wrote at great length telling of her happy time here. It was a joy to hear from her. Who knows if she is not now rejoicing with those Sisters she loved so much? May she now know the peace and joy of the risen Christ.”

Normally it would be panto season, but with all the current restrictions things will be a bit different this year.
What you may not know is 12 years ago the parish community staged a pantomime at The Towers. Starring many local faces including the Towers Bursar at the time, Ros -( Primrose Cottage Bed and Breakfast - Cornwall UK - Launceston ), it is a bit of fun to brighten up what is (at the time of writing) a dull damp day:
