Although we have only been back in school a few days, the summer holidays are fading into the dim and distant past. Our pupils have returned smartly turned out and I gather that many had been champing at the bit to return to school and see their friends. Our new pupils seem to be settling in well and our junior parents will be meeting new teachers over this week. Our PTA members were back in the swing on Monday, welcoming new parents and our Year 7 parents will have the opportunity to meet their form tutors, Mrs Finn and Miss Tallant.
Preparation for Open Evening is revving up as it approaches next week. We really hope you will come any time between 6.00 and 8.00pm to feel the amazing buzz around the school, that such an evening creates. The theme is very current; wellbeing and healthy living, which link in perfectly with Snailspace and The Steyning Food Festival, of which we are a part.
Whilst on the subject of Snailspace, Mrs Syred and I are going to the launch. Our adult snail Sparkle, is on the Dyke Road side of Dyke Road Park, near the café. We’re not sure where our baby snail, Sweet Tooth is but will let you know ASAP. As the weather looks like it’s going to be mild for the next few weeks, it would be great if you could see the snails (ours in particular of course) take some selfies/photos and send them to us. I’ll keep you up to date with Snail news.
