Well done to Lucia P who represented our school at Cambridge University in the national final of the “Routes into Languages” spelling bee. Michaela Tallant, our MFL teacher, practised with Lucia on the phone on the morning of the competition. Lucia was very calm and well prepared.
All the finalists were welcomed to Cambridge University, and congratulated for reaching the national finals. Modern Language tutors from the university, representatives from the Goethe Institut and Institut Français acted as the judges. The competition was tough as all the children were brilliant, but there was a great atmosphere of excitement. The finalists were all sat together which enabled them to make friends and they were very encouraging towards each other. This made the final rounds a really positive experience. Lucia was in the top 30 at the National Competition.
