Here’s a tale that shows how a little bit of effort goes a long way and for Emily H it took her all the way to Windsor castle.
Emily entered the BBC 500 Words competition and was 1 of 100 students from across the country who were invited to Windsor to share in this literary celebration.
On the day she met some incredible people in addition to having a very rare tour of some -normally closed to the public – parts of the Castle including a private view of the Queen’s personal library and personal collection or rare works of art (paintings of past kings and queens, original works by incredible artists such as Leonardo Davinci) and priceless gifts from royals and dignitaries from around the world.
The final was presented by Zoe Ball whom she met and chatted to and was hosted by the Duchess of Cornwall. There was also an extravaganza of live music and sensational story-telling, with the six winning wordsmiths announced live on-air by celebrity narrators including David Walliams, Hugh Bonneville, Sandi Toksvig & Helen McCrory. Emily also met Chris Evans and watched fantastic music from Busted, Tom Walker and Matilda the Musical.
Wowzers Emily!!! Congratulations!!!
