It was a great week for netball this week and a terrific way to end the netball season.

On Monday, Year 7 took part in the School Games Netball Tournament against 10 other schools. They played in a round robin tournament and came 6th overall, demonstrating great improvement and teamwork throughout.

On Tuesday, Year 7 and the Year 8 A team played their last netball league games.  Year 7 played Steyning Church Street and won 22-7 with some great shooting from Eva.  Year 8 played two games, the first against Shoreham, achieved an excellent result of 26 – 1 in just 14 minutes. This was followed by a win of 13-2 against Steyning Rock Road, again an excellent score. As the Year 8 A team have won all their games in the league they go through to the finals next Tuesday.

On Wednesday we played our last senior netball matches at home against Brighton and Hove High School. Years 7, 8 and 9 all had a game and it was a great atmosphere, with the sun shining and many parents there to watch. Year 7 played really well: at half time they were winning 6-2, and managed to keep control and possession of the game, eventually winning 14-4.  Year 8 played brilliantly, scoring 12 goals in the first 10 minute quarter, with great shooting from Lily and Ava.  By half time, it was 25-2 with even more great goals from Lily and Iyana. After a big change around of positions for the second half of the game, the girls continued to take control of the game – well done to BHHS who kept going throughout!  The final score was 50-5, a terrific achievement to score 50 goals in 40 minutes. Year 9 also had success on their court, leading by 20-6 at half time and again, with some significant changes, they continued to maintain possession and won 32 – 15.
